A Werecat Christmas Carol

So yesterday, after eating way too much, I was chilling and listening to Christmas music (I much prefer traditional songs played on an Irish wire-strung harp to what they play in the stores—are we over those now? 😂) and it occurred to me that what was really needed was a Werecat Christmas Carol for Zana!

Now, if by chance you don’t know (and you totally should!), Zana is the uber-awesome, sexy, loveable werecat from Riley Rose’s The Adventures of Elena and Ned, Gargoyle P.I.

Zana Gets the Best Gift for Christmas! Super-huge Thank You to Riley Rose for letting me use

So I decided I should try to do something about this deplorable lack of werecat Christmas carols! I’m fond of Silent Night and it seemed to fit Zana (when you read the book, you’ll understand) so I tweaked the lyrics to make them Zana-focused and went to Producer.ai to get the music.

That’s when things got a teeny bit complicated! Silent Night is in the public domain and beside, parody songs have a long history—including silly versions of Christmas carols, of course!—so I didn’t expect there to be any problem!

But it turns out Producer.ai, which is overall pretty cool, can be a bit of a poophead about these things and wouldn’t let me create my werecat Christmas carol unless I changed the lyrics! It took some back and forth and a few tries to come up with lyrics it would accept, but I finally did! (It kept suggesting lyrics, which were pretty goofy, so I rejected all of them except one line that I did like and thought was better than mine.)

Of course, it also changed the tune (I prefer the original), but the tune it came up with is cute and fun. I shared it with Riley and she was really awesome in saying I could post it if I wanted to! So I thought I would!

Here it is! A werecat Christmas carol for Zana! Super-huge Thank YouRiley! 😄
