We are hosted by MojoHost. That means we are required to abide by their legal stipulations and AUP, and so is anyone who hosts with us. They are available here. Please become familiar with them. There will not be a quiz, but you will have to attest that you’ve read them. Yes, that’s not tons of fun, but we don’t make the rules; we just follow them.
Due to legal stipulations and liability, we cannot provide you with billing services. If you host with us, you are responsible for setting up billing services with your provider of choice. We’ll be honest with you: the current environment is hostile to small, independent creators like us! Getting billing is not always easy and can be expensive, depending on your needs.
We offer built-in integration to two billing services providers: PayPal and CCBill.
PayPal is often the easiest choice for small, independent creators, if you fall within their acceptable use policy. Read PayPal’s AUP here. Their full legal terms are here. If you choose PayPal, ensure you abide by policies, or you will run a high risk of having your account banned.
The other choice is CCBill. CCBill will provide billing services for sites selling any content that meets their legal requirements, which are less restrictive than PayPal’s. You can read them here. You will be responsible for ensuring all the content you post is compliant with their AUP, and you’ll have to assert that to CCBill to have your account approved. Please take compliance seriously, because they do. CCBill has a more stringent onboarding process and is a more expensive option because of the laws that have been enacted in recent years and the increasingly difficult and expensive policies put in place by Visa and MasterCard.
While we have a long history with CCBill and have found them to be very reliable, be aware of their requirements and potential costs before applying for an account with them. In general, if your content is not acceptable to PayPal, it may likely fall outside of our guidelines also but the choice is yours.
We do not support integration with Stripe. Stripe is notorious for their poor treatment of small, independent creators. If you choose to use Stripe, which we personally do not recommend, you will have to set up your own integration, independent of us.
